Easy Email Marketing: 10 Simple Steps For Creating And Sending Marketing Email Your Customers Will Love
Step 8: It’s Time To Send Your Email!
This is a big step. It’s time to send your email to customers. It’s going to be fun, I promise. But first, I want to talk about timing and why you can send your email whenever you want to.
Any Day, Anytime
In the beginning, the exact time when you send your email doesn’t really matter much. I once had a heated multi-day debate with co-workers about the right time to send our first email. We’d never sent anything, yet everyone was sure he or she had good reason for sending the email on a Monday morning, or Wednesday at lunchtime, or by the light of the first full moon (kidding, but it’s not far from the truth.) Turns out, after several weeks of emails, Sunday mornings had the most opens and clicks on our offer. Who knew? We certainly didn’t until our readers showed us.
You’ll Know When After You Send
Over time you may want to fine-tune email launches to when your customers are more likely to read them, but that’s fiddly stuff for later, after you’ve seen how they respond. Let’s send them one first.
Tell Your Team
Before you hit that send button, it’s a good idea to let the people who will be affected know what’s coming. Your sales and customer service people especially, if you have them.
3 ... 2 ... 1 ... Click That Button!
It’s time to send your email. Nervous? That’s normal. I still get a little nervous beforehand. Schedule your email to send on its own (your email service will show you how), or send it with a ceremony and a click. It’s completely up to you. (It can be kind of exciting the first time.) Ready? Good, now click that send button!
Celebrate ― You Deserve It
Hooray! This is a big deal. You’ve come a long way. You created an email offer your customers will love, designed an email that looks great on any device, and sent it to your customers. You are amazing! Now is the time to sit back, relax and bask in your achievement while customers respond to your email.
Next Is Step 9
Some email marketing services let you see results in real time, which can be fun. Others provide reports after a slight delay. No worries ― just let the numbers (and hopefully sales) roll in over the next day or two.
Next we’ll talk about the only three results you need to track.
