Podcast: Blogs and Twitter and YouTube! Oh My!

by Keith Monaghan

A while ago I produced and hosted a series of podcasts for a client. We learned a lot and in the process created something that was highly informative and, dare I say, bordered on professional.

The shows were about running live arts organizations–performing arts centers, night clubs, live theater–that sort of thing.

It was a lot of fun. In fact, if I could interview people for a living I would. Watch your back, Ira Glass!

So what, you say?

Good point. You probably don’t manage an off-Broadway show.

But one of the better episodes is rather timely and if you’re looking for insight into the current social media marketing frenzy you might find my discussion with arts marketing consultant Maryann Devine interesting.

We cover a lot of ground in 18 minutes and it’s a great primer on blogging, YouTube, and the ridiculously popular twitter.

Just substitute “business” every time you hear us say “arts venue” and it will make perfect sense. Honest.
